Starbucks Stock Surges to 52-Week High Following Q3 Double Beat

Starbucks Corp (NASDAQ:SBUX) reported third-quarter financial results for fiscal 2026 after the closing bell on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the key details from the print.

Starbucks Q3 Key Metrics

Starbucks reported fiscal third-quarter revenue of $9.32 billion, beating analyst estimates of $9.16 billion. The coffee giant posted adjusted earnings of 85 cents per share for the quarter, beating analyst estimates of 66 cents per share, according to Benzinga Pro.

Consolidated net revenue was down 1% on a year-over-year basis as global comparable store sales climbed 7.9%, driven by a 4.2% increase in transactions and a 3.5% increase in average ticket. Comparable store sales were up 8.1% in North America and increased 5.7% internationally.

“Our Back to Starbucks plan was built on the belief that an extraordinary cup of coffee, human connection and customer experience win the day, every day. Our third quarter results are proof they do,” said Brian Niccol, chairman and CEO of Starbucks.

“We have more work to do, but we’re relentlessly focused on reclaiming the third place and becoming the world’s greatest customer service company.”

Starbucks opened 175 net new stores in the quarter and ended the period with 41,304 total locations. The company said it had approximately $3.45 billion in cash and cash equivalents at quarter’s end.

Looking ahead, Starbucks expects global and U.S. comparable sales growth to be “slightly greater” than 6% in fiscal 2026, up from a previous forecast of 5% or more. Consolidated net revenues are expected to show “flat to slight growth” on a year-over-year basis. Adjusted earnings are expected to be between $2.55 to $2.65, up from a prior forecast of $2.25 to $2.45 per share.

Starbucks’ board declared a cash dividend of 62 cents per share, payable on Aug. 28 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 14.

Starbucks executives are currently discussing the quarter on an earnings call that started at 4:15 p.m. ET.

SBUX Shares Heat Up After the Close

SBUX Price Action: Starbucks shares were up 7.88% in after-hours Wednesday, trading at $112.35 at the time of publication, according to Benzinga Pro. The stock is trading at new 52-week highs.
