Airbus's Guidance May be Conservative After Strong 2Q Results

0802 GMT - Airbus's move to reiterate its annual guidance may be too conservative after the European plane maker delivered better-than-expected 2Q results, Deutsche Bank's Christophe Menard writes in a note to clients. Revenue grew 28% to 20.53 billion euros, above company consensus of 20.25 billion euros. Meanwhile, adjusted earnings before interest and taxes--Airbus's preferred measure of profitability--jumped 54% on year to 2.43 billion euros, above consensus of 2.19 billion euros. "Even though Airbus stands firm on its FY26 guidance, in our view, it could be too conservative. Another striking message of the release is a positive environment across all businesses," Menard says. Airbus shares trade 2.4% lower at 204.80 euros.
