1155 ET - Greif completes the acquisition of Envaplast during the recent quarter, paying $57 million for the company, which manufactures small plastic bottles primarily for agro-chemical and pharmaceutical end markets. The buy expands Greif's manufacturing presence in Spain, where it previously occupied a limited position in the small-polymer packaging market. "It's a white spot where we didn't operate," CEO Ole Rosgaard says in an interview. "Suddenly, we are now a leader in that particular segment." Greif has at least two more deals in the pipeline, both of which Rosgaard expects to close in the coming months. Shares gain 3% after the industrial packaging company grows its profit in its fiscal third quarter.
