Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Updates Exploration Target for Victoria Gold-Antimony Project

Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (ASX:SX2) reported an updated exploration target for its Sunday Creek gold-antimony project in Victoria, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The project is estimated to contain 3 million to 4.6 million ounces of gold equivalent at grades of 8.9 grams per tonne (g/t) to 12.1 g/t across 10.4 million to 11.9 million tonnes.

The company has grown the exploration target from three prospects to five, and from 1,020 meters of strike to over 1,500 meters, President and CEO Michael Hudson said.

The Christina prospect was added to the exploration target calculation for the first time, while the Golden Dyke and Apollo East prospects have also "added significantly," Hudson said.

The company warned that exploration so far has been insufficient to estimate a mineral resource, and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in a mineral resource estimate.

The company's shares gained about 1% in recent Tuesday trade.
