China Resources Double-Crane Pharmaceutical's (SHA:600062) unit, China Resources Double-Crane Limin Pharmaceutical (Jinan), completed the registration of its phase III clinical trial for pregabalin extended-release tablets, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Friday.

The study found that the drug provides definite pain relief for patients with postherpetic neuralgia and its efficacy remained stable during long-term treatment. It also improved patients' sleep.

However, short-term improvements in anxiety, depression, and rescue medication use were not particularly evident.

The pharmaceutical company's shares rose 2% at the close.
