Mitsubishi Electric (TYO:6503) is planning to boost its electronic systems production capacity for the 2035 frontline fighter jet program of Japan, Britain and Italy, according to a Thursday report.

Chief Financial Officer Kenichiro Fujimoto said in an interview with Reuters that the construction plan for three facilities is expected to add to the Japanese defense contractor's earnings from "around fiscal 2029 or 2030, ​or perhaps a year before that."
