Open Text profit surged in its fiscal fourth quarter as strong cloud performance and enterprise bookings helped drive revenue growth.

For the three months ended June 30, the Waterloo, Ontario-based software company on Thursday posted net income of $155.7 million, or 64 cents a share, up from $28.9 million, or 11 cents a share, in the comparable quarter a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings were $1.23 a share, exceeding analyst forecasts of $1.04 a share, according to FactSet.

Total revenue rose 2.9% to $1.35 billion, coming in ahead of expectations of $1.32 billion. The company benefited from a 6% rise in cloud revenue and a 24% increase in enterprise cloud bookings. License revenue also jumped in the quarter.

Looking ahead to 2027, Chief Executive Ayman Antoun said the company will focus on expanding sales capacity, deepening reach through ecosystem partners and increasing organic investment in Open Text's core portfolio.

"This is our foundation year where we will drive core organic growth in constant currency and put in place the launch pad for sustained, enhanced performance going forward," Antoun said.
