Shares of Treace Medical Concepts climbed after the medical-device company reported second-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations and raised its full-year outlook.

Shares were recently up 6.6% at $4.67.

Treace posted a narrower second-quarter loss of $15.9 million, or 24 cents a share, compared with a loss of $17.4 million, or 28 cents a share, a year earlier. Analysts had expected a 30-cent-a-share loss.

Revenue decreased 4% to $45.4 million from $47.4 million a year earlier, but topped the FactSet consensus estimate of $44 million.

The company raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $204 million to $212 million, from prior guidance of $202 million to $212 million.

Chief Executive John Treace said the results were driven by accelerating case volumes, market-share gains and surgeons' increasing adoption of the company's expanded bunion portfolio and newer foot-and-ankle products.
