CME (CME) and Silicon Data plan to launch two compute futures contracts, namely the Silicon Data H100 Rental Index Futures and Silicon Data B200 Rental Index Futures, on Oct. 5, pending regulatory review, the companies said Tuesday.

The new futures will track indexes measuring hourly rental GPU costs compiled by Silicon Data, with each contract representing a month's worth of rent for the Nvidia (NVDA) H100, as well as the Blackwell B200, respectively, the companies said.

These new trading tools are expected to offer hedging and investment vehicles to businesses looking to manage the cost of compute and hardware infrastructure required to run AI models, according to a statement.
