Foreign Investors Cut GCC Equity Exposure in July

Dow Jones

1459 GMT - Foreign investors reduced their exposure to Gulf equities in July, with GCC markets recording combined net foreign outflows of $415 million, Iridium Advisors says. Saudi Arabia saw the largest outflow at $129 million, while Kuwait and Qatar recorded outflows of $153 million and $72 million, respectively. The U.A.E. was close to flat at a $26 million outflow, with Abu Dhabi seeing $148 million of inflows offset by $174 million of outflows from Dubai. Iridium says the moves suggest foreign investors cut regional exposure even as local investors continued to support selected stocks.
