Meta Platforms (META) introduced Muse Glimmer, a new AI model that can run directly on a Mac or PC with a single consumer graphics processing unit, enabling users to run AI agents locally without relying on cloud connectivity

The model's trained parameters are being released publicly under an Apache 2.0 license on Hugging Face, Meta said Monday in a statement.

The 30-billion-parameter Muse Glimmer was developed through distillation from its larger Muse Spark model and additional training for long-context reasoning, coding and agentic workflows, the company said.

Integrations with llama.cpp, MLX and ExecuTorch are expected in the coming days.
