China's Consumer and Producer Price Inflation Have Likely Peaked

0330 GMT - China's headline consumer price and producer price inflation have likely peaked, says UOB's Ho Woei Chen in a research note. He expects limited upward pressure on prices for the remainder of the year. The economist sees CPI tracking around 1.0% or lower as weak consumer demand continues to constrain pricing power. Producer prices are likely to be influenced largely by developments in the Middle East and their implications for global oil and commodity prices, UOB says. The Middle East conflict and fluctuating oil prices remain key risks for producer cost pressures, Chen adds.
