Shares of Janus International Group fell after the company cut its full-year outlook and logged lower-than-expected revenue during the latest quarter.

The stock slipped 15%, to $4.59, in premarket trading Tuesday. Through Monday's close, shares have lost nearly a fifth of their value year to date.

The company before the bell posted net income of $10.7 million, or 8 cents a share, for its three months ended July 4. That compares with net income of $20.7 million, or 15 cents a share, in last year's comparable quarter.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings came in at 17 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of 14 cents a share.

Total revenues climbed 2.4% to $233.5 million but came in below Wall Street models for $238.8 million.

Product revenues came in at $197.9 million, up 3.7% from last year. Meanwhile, service revenues fell 4.3% to $35.6 million.

"Although our results in the second quarter came in slightly below our expectations, we continue to make progress against our strategic priorities," Chief Executive Ramey Jackson said. "While the operating environment remains challenging, we are focused on executing with discipline, supporting our customers, and creating long-term value for our shareholders."

For the year, Janus now expects total revenue of $925 million to $945 million, down from its prior forecast of $940 million to $980 million. Analysts are looking for $956.5 million.
