Veon's (VEON) Bangladesh operating company Banglalink has obtained a Payment Service Provider license from the country's central bank, Bangladesh Bank, the company said Wednesday.

Banglalink plans to launch its digital payment services under the brand Mukto Pay, according to a statement.

Veon has committed an initial $250 million to invest in a proposed public-private partnership with the Bangladeshi government, the company said.
