Shares of Newsmax gained Friday after the conservative news company reported its first quarterly profit since becoming a public company, helped by higher revenue from affiliate fees and licensing.

The stock was recently up 13%, at $10.73, and has risen about 39% this year.

Newsmax reported net income of $2.9 million, or 2 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $75.2 million, or 59 cents a share, a year earlier.

The improvement was driven by higher revenue, improved operating efficiency and the absence of legal-settlement expenses recorded in the prior-year period.

Newsmax reported a nearly 17% increase in quarterly revenue, at $54.1 million.

Broadcasting revenue rose about 21%, to $45.8 million, driven by higher affiliate fees and increased licensing revenue. Affiliate-fee revenue rose 82%, to $13.4 million, while licensing revenue jumped nearly sevenfold, to $4.6 million.

Newsmax reiterated its full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $212 million to $216 million, representing 13% year-over-year growth at the midpoint.
