Shares of X-Energy rose after the nuclear reactor technology company's second-quarter revenue beat estimates.
The stock was up 12% to $22.68 in recent trading, but has fallen 23% in the past three months.
The company reported a loss of $59.1 million, or 21 cents a share.
Revenue was up to $54.6 million from $16.9 million, driven by an increase in project execution activities. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $39.9 million.
Chief Executive J. Clay Sell said through its partnerships with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the state of Tennessee, the company was working to lead nuclear innovation.
