Polaris Group (TPE:6550) will reduce its capital by NT$4.3 billion, cancelling 430 million shares, or 48.1% of its issued shares, to offset accumulated losses.

Shares dropped about 5% in Tuesday's afternoon trade.

Following the reduction, paid-in capital will fall to NT$4.65 billion from NT$8.95 billion, with 464.9 million shares remaining.

Existing shares will stop trading from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24, with replacement shares scheduled to begin trading on Sept. 29, it said.
