Trump: Pauses 50% tariffs on Canada after deal

President Donald Trump announced on August 19 that he has paused the 50% tariffs against Canada, which were scheduled to take effect tomorrow morning, for a three-day period. The decision was made based on the fact that Canada and the United States have reached a deal, subject to the finalization of documents.

In his statement, Trump also noted that the Keystone XL Pipeline, "long ago killed by Sleepy Joe Biden, may be awoken from the grave!" The pipeline project, which had been halted under the previous administration, is now potentially revived as part of the agreement.

No further details of the deal were provided by the President, but the temporary pause marks a shift in the ongoing trade tensions between the two countries.
