Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) said drilling extended gold mineralization at both Main Hill and Main Hill Extension at the Mt York gold project in Western Australia, with mineralization remaining open at depth, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

Drilling is testing extensions of the deposit at depth, targeting a large open-pit operation, the company said. It hit intercepts of 10 meters at 4.02 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 262 meters, 12 meters at 3.63 g/t grade of gold from 295 meters, as well as 22 meters at 2.04 g/t grade of gold from 122 meters.

Five drilling rigs are currently on site at the project, with a sixth rig due in September, per the company.

Its shares rose 3% in recent trading on Monday.
