Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) said it has started heat pump boiler production in South Korea, supporting the government's heating electrification promotion project, according to a Monday release.
The South Korean technology company said the trials started Aug. 19 at its new 2,132-square-meter production line at the Gwangju plant, with full-scale production scheduled for late September.
The plant will expand electrification of residential heating and make Samsung the first in Korea to participate in heating electrification programs by shifting production from an overseas facility to a domestic production line.
