Avnet raised its quarterly dividend by 5.7%, to 37 cents a share, from 35 cents a share.

The new payout, equal to $1.48 a year, represents an annual yield of about 1.7% based on Thursday's closing price of $86.89.

The dividend is payable on Sept. 23 to stockholders of record on Sept. 9, the company said.
