Oculis (OCS) treated the first patient in a trial of Privosegtor to treat optic neuritis, the company said Monday.

The study's primary endpoint is the proportion of patients achieving at least a 15-letter gain from baseline, while the secondary endpoint is the mean change in low-contrast visual acuity after three months.

Optic neuritis is a rare condition characterized by an inflammation of the optic nerve that can result in visual impairment and is often the first sign of multiple sclerosis.

Oculis plans an investigational new drug submission for Privosegtor to treat acute multiple sclerosis relapses in Q4, it said.

The company's shares were up 4.6% in premarket activity.
