Perpetual (ASX:PPT) expects to book a AU$63.5 million non-cash impairment charge against goodwill tied to its unit Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley (TSW) after a client plans to redeem $4.6 billion from TSW's international equity strategy in the second quarter fiscal 2027, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company deemed the impact an adjusting item despite receiving the redemption notification after June 30 and will recognize the impairment as a fiscal 2026 significant item, subject to final audit and financial statement finalization, the filing said.

The charge will not affect liquidity, compliance with banking covenants, or underlying profit after tax, which is the metric used to determine the company's dividend payout ratio, the filing added.

The company's shares fell almost 2% in recent Friday trade.
