Universal Scientific Industrial Shanghai's (SHA:601231) net profit attributable to shareholders in the first half jumped 29% to 822.1 million yuan from 638 million yuan in the prior year, according to a Thursday disclosure on the Shanghai bourse.

Earnings per share rose 21% year on year to 0.35 yuan from 0.29 yuan.

Operating revenue slightly increased to 27.3 billion yuan from 27.2 billion yuan a year earlier.

The Chinese wireless equipment maker's shares rose 3% during the afternoon trade.
