Kelsian Group Excludes SeaLink Rottnest From Sale of Tourism Portfolio to Journey Beyond; Shares Gain 5%

Kelsian Group (ASX:KLS) reached an agreement to exclude its SeaLink Rottnest ferry service from the proposed sale of its tourism portfolio to Journey Beyond for AU$161 million, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is assessing the divestment as two separate applications: the tourism portfolio excluding SeaLink Rottnest for a total consideration of AU$145.8 million, and SeaLink Rottnest for a total consideration of AU$15.2 million.

"Having removed SeaLink Rottnest from the transaction perimeter, we are confident we have a compelling case for ACCC approval of the remaining tourism portfolio transaction," said Kelsian Group CEO Graeme Legh.

Kelsian plans to continue to operate SeaLink Rottnest, and expects the remaining tourism portfolio sale to complete in the first half of fiscal 2027.

The company's shares gained 5% in recent Wednesday trade.
