Prosecutors in Taiwan indicted nine people, including a former Nvidia employee, for smuggling high-end AI servers to Chinese customers in defiance of U.S. export controls, the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office said in a Monday press release.

The defendants allegedly colluded to pursue "exorbitant" profits and "seriously damaging" Taiwan's international image, the prosecutor's office said.

Prosecutors named the ex-Nvidia manager, surnamed Zhang, as the "key figure" in releasing 130 B300 graphics processing units to Chinese customers using false identities through Japan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.

Two of the accused are employees of server manufacturer Super Micro Computer.

Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
