Komatsu (TYO:6301) looks to increase product supply to North America to meet demand for data center construction amid the AI boon, Nikkei Asia reported Wednesday, citing CFO Hiroshi Hosotani.

The company's sales of construction equipment in the region grew 29% year over year, Hosotani said in an interview with the news outlet.

The data center market could further grow for another five years, given that building data centers can continue for a long time, the executive said in the interview.

The company will also focus on improving inventory levels through optimal production planning to anchor free cash flow, the report cited Hosotani as saying.
