Malaysian shares closed slightly higher to end in the green on Thursday, as Bank Negara Malaysia held policy rates steady, in line with expectations.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, gained 6.39 points to end 0.4% higher at 1,715.13.

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) voted to maintain its benchmark Overnight Policy Rate at 2.75% at the conclusion of its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on Thursday. The decision, which matched the consensus forecast tracked by Investing.com, keeps borrowing costs at their current level.

The MPC said the latest indicators point toward resilient global growth amid strong tech expansion, enhanced supply conditions, and stable labor markets.

In corporate news, shares of Kerjaya Prospek Group (KLSE:KERJAYA) rose about 7% on close today after its unit, Kerjaya Prospek (M), secured a contract worth 858 million ringgit from an undisclosed data center developer.

Evocom (KLSE:EVOCOM) seeks to raise 20.5 million ringgit via an initial public offering on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. The logistics and workforce services company's IPO comprises a public issue of 113.9 million new shares at an issue price of 0.18 ringgit per share, as well an offer for sale of 22 million shares.
