Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) commenced first gold and antimony production at its wholly-owned Hillgrove Mine in New South Wales following an extensive redevelopment and plant upgrade, according to an Australian bourse filing on Monday after market hours.
The mine is expected to produce around 4,900 tonnes of antimony and 40,500 ounces of gold annually over an initial eight-year lifespan, potentially meeting around 7% of global antimony demand, per the filing.
Hillgrove is expected to provide a strategically important new source of antimony in the West, while planned tungsten production will further strengthen its critical-minerals profile, the filing added.
