A prolonged stretch of hotter, drier weather would crimp output in Thailand's agricultural sector. However, fresh produce accounts for 8% of the CPI basket, down from around 10% in 2015-2016, they note. The economy is also increasingly driven by the electronics and digital sectors, making it less exposed to lower agricultural output. Maybank expects Thailand's 2026 and 2027 GDP growth of 2.4% and 2.7%, respectively. It projects headline inflation to average 1.6% in 2026 and 1.8% in 2027.
