Eni (E) and Petronas have signed a deal to evaluate the development of high-performance bio-gasoline using Eni's Ecofining technology, the companies said Monday.

The study will assess technical, market and sustainability factors for new renewable bio-gasoline that could be used in motorsport and later scaled for commercial applications, they said.

The efforts will combine Eni's biorefining capabilities and production, while Petronas will provide fuel-technology capabilities, the companies added.
