Mexico's Inflation Seen Rising in August

1621 ET - Inflation in Mexico likely picked up in August, led by increases in fresh food prices, while core inflation is seen little changed from the previous month. The consumer price index is expected to have risen 0.25% last month, which would push up the 12-month inflation rate to 3.31% from 3.12% in July, according to analysts in a Wall Street Journal survey. Core CPI, which excludes perishable food prices and energy, is seen rising 0.20% in August, with the annual rate slipping to 3.93% from 3.95% in July. Statistics institute Inegi is scheduled to report August inflation on Wednesday.
