Amazon.com's (AMZN) India unit said Tuesday that its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, crossed $1 billion in annualized gross sales in India over the past three months.
Amazon Now has seen orders double every quarter since the service launched, making it the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India's history, the company said.
Amazon Now has expanded to more than 60 cities and towns in less than 10 weeks, up from its previous footprint, with deliveries supported by more than 750 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers, it said.
The company aims to reach 100 cities by Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, which falls in November this year.
