U.S. Treasury Yields, Dollar Little Changed Ahead of Fed's Likely Rate Hike

0953 GMT - U.S. Treasury yields and the dollar are steady in mid-morning European trade ahead of the Federal Reserve's decision, when a rate increase is widely expected. A 25-basis-point rate rise is near certain given market pricing of an over 90% probability of this outcome, according to LSEG data. Attention will focus on the voting split, particularly Chairman Kevin Warsh's stance, DHF Capital S.A's Bas Kooijman says in a note. "A hawkish message signalling further increases could push yields higher and support the dollar, while any attempt to downplay the prospect of additional tightening could add volatility to bond and currency markets," he says. The 10-year Treasury yields are steady at 4.994%, according to Tradeweb. The DXY index trades at 99.642.
