China's industrial energy production was mixed in August, with raw coal output falling and natural gas output rising year over year, while crude oil production increased and electricity generation declined, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

Raw coal production slipped 7.7% year over year to 360 million tons, compared with a 10.1% decline in the previous month.

Crude oil output climbed 0.8% year over year to 18.4 million tons, while natural gas production increased 0.8% to 21.4 billion cubic meters, reversing a 0.9% decline in July.

Electricity output fell 0.8% to 943.8 billion kilowatt-hours.
