OGE Energy's (OGE) growth is seen as accelerating and investors can expect a "steady stream" of positive updates in the next 12 months, RBC Capital Markets said in a Wednesday note.

The company is anticipated to soon provide clarity on how it will address a generating capacity shortfall in the early 2030s, RBC analysts said. OGE stated that it would soon file an initial pre-approval for a portion of the shortfall, with more filings to follow, according to the note.

OGE reiterated their estimate of around $1.5 billion in incremental capital spending related to the Southwest Power Pool's 2025 Integrated Transmission Plan, consisting of about 50% share in the Seminole-Shreveport line and other, smaller projects, according to the note. A notice-to-construct is expected in October at the earliest and potentially in Q4, the analysts said.

The analysts said OGE has drawn interest from potential data center customers and is in talks with "multiple large-load parties," but the company has not given a pipeline estimate.

RBC's rating on the company's stock is outperform with a price target of $54.
