Shares of AeroVironment rose after its BlueHalo unit received a U.S. Air Force contract with a ceiling of $99.8 million.
The stock gained 6%, to $155.54, midday Monday, but is down 36% this year.
BlueHalo, which AeroVironment acquired in 2025, was awarded the contract for the Air Force's Leveraged Orbital Battlespace program.
The award provides for research and development to advance scientific knowledge and technology-supporting space systems.
Work will be performed in Alabama and New Mexico, and is slated to wrap up by Aug. 29, 2031.
