0251 GMT - Japan's consumer-price data released Friday shows the growing impact of the Middle East conflict and demand related to artificial intelligence--risk factors the Bank of Japan has said it is watching carefully. "The data confirms that price pass-through driven by rising costs, fueled by expanding AI demand and Middle East tensions, is spreading, particularly across physical goods," says Daiwa Securities economist Kento Minami. Prices for household nondurable goods, such as plastic bags, toilet paper and tissue paper, rose in August, government data showed. Durable-goods prices rose 3.0% from a year earlier, accelerating from July's 2.0% increase, reflecting price hikes on items including televisions, tablets and mobile phones.
