Chemed (CHE) unit Roto-Rooter Services said late Wednesday it acquired a franchise territory serving about 11 million people across California, including Northern San Diego, Palm Springs, Ventura, Bakersfield, Lancaster, Fresno, Monterey, Stockton, Modesto, Manteca and Sacramento.

The purchase price was $60.6 million, according to a statement.
