Samsung Heavy Industries (KRX:010140) and energy technology platform GasEntec signed a memorandum of understanding for GasEntec to license the former's SENSE liquefaction technology for small-scale applications with the capacity of 50,000 to 1 million tons per annum.

The collaboration will expand GasEntec's capabilities into liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction, building on its experience integrating modular LNG systems for floating and onshore infrastructure, GasEntec said Tuesday.

Samsung Heavy Industries will continue to directly offer its liquefaction technology for larger-scale applications, including floating LNG projects.
