Honda Ridgeline Rear-View Camera Probe Closed by US Auto Regulator

Honda (HMC) will face no further action from US auto safety regulators after the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration closed an investigation into rear-view camera failures affecting 2020 to 2024 model Ridgeline pickup trucks, the regulator said Tuesday.

NHTSA said it opened a preliminary evaluation in February 2024 after receiving 50 complaints involving rear-view camera images failing to display when the vehicles were in reverse.

Honda said it subsequently recalled the affected models and replaced the tailgate wiring harness with a redesigned part "to withstand wear from bending."
