Amazon's (AMZN) Vietnamese satellite division, Amazon Kuiper Vietnam, received a license to run a private satellite-based telecommunications network in the country, several media outlets reported Thursday.

The network will connect Amazon's satellite system with Vietnamese ground infrastructure, according to reports.

Reports added that the license allows Amazon to test equipment manufactured in the country, but it must comply with all regulations.

Amazon and Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
