1522 ET - Demand for air travel appears to remain strong, despite a lingering headwind from fuel prices, Morgan Stanley analysts write in a note, recapping day 2 of the bank's annual Laguna conference. United, Southwest, Allegiant, and Frontier all reported strong travel demand or said they saw no signs of softness in the market, even as the cost of fuel drives up ticket prices. Still, the cost of fuel continues to create uncertainty for most of the industry. The analysts write that consistently elevated fuel costs could prove a headwind for JetBlue's path to profitability and prompt airlines across the board to reduce capacity.
