Stocks rose across the globe and Treasury yields slipped in early European trade, as the continued fall in oil prices boosted market sentiment.

The artificial-intelligence trade showed renewed strength, with AI-linked stocks rising in the U.S. premarket. Asia and Europe indexes were also higher. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 both added 0.6%, while Nasdaq futures jumped 0.8%.

Shares in Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Skydance both jumped by more than 6% premarket as hopes increased that their mooted merger will complete. Accenture shares rose 6% premarket after the software group signed an AI safety deal with Anthropic.

In Asian equity markets, the South Korean Kospi added 1.65% as chip maker Samsung Electronics jumped 5%. Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 1.4%, while Shanghai's SSE composite was up 1%. In Europe, the continent-wide Stoxx 600 rose 0.7% as banks and large-cap technology companies gained. ASML, the continent's most valuable company, added 3%.

Signs that tankers are transiting the Strait of Hormuz and renewed diplomatic efforts have encouraged oil traders. In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, President Trump indicated he would be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the United Nations General Assembly this week. Houthi rebels continued to threaten Saudi Arabian supply, with the Iran-backed group targeting Red Sea export routes. Brent crude oil contracts fell by more than 2% to around $101.79 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate fell to around $98 a barrel.

Treasury yields remained elevated, but were below highs hit at the end of last week. Two-year Treasury yields slipped 1.4 basis points to 4.738%, while 10-year yields fell 2.4 basis points to 4.973%. Yields on 30-year Treasurys fell two basis points to 5.305%.

The dollar continued to strengthen after its boost last week from the Federal Reserve's rate hike. Gold fell back below $4,400 a troy ounce, while bitcoin extended gains to trade close to $82,000.

Geopolitics will dominate the week as world leaders meet in New York for the UN General Assembly. A summit between President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday will be the focus of market attention. Discussions on AI and broader trade between the superpowers are expected.

On the macro front, attention will shift to next week's jobs report, though interventions from Fed governors will be watched this week.
