Sino Biopharma Unit Grants STADA Commercialization License for Pembrolizumab Biosimilar

Sino Biopharmaceutical (HKG:1177) unit Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group entered into a strategic biosimilars partnership with STADA Arzneimittel, a Monday bourse filing showed.

Under the contract, Chia Tai Tianqing Pharma will grant STADA an exclusive license to commercialize pembrolizumab biosimilar TQB3570 in the European Union, Switzerland,

the U.K., and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Chia Tai Tianqing Pharma will receive an upfront payment and be eligible for potential development, regulatory, and sales milestone payments of up to 53 million euros, alongside a double-digit profit share for the pembrolizumab biosimilar candidate.

The parties also have options to add up to three additional biosimilar molecules across oncology and immunology indications.

The company will develop and manufacture the candidates, while Germany-headquartered STADA will lead marketing and sales.
