Fresenius Medical Care (FMS) said Friday it has refined its China commercial strategy, with plans to discontinue production and sales of 4008A hemodialysis system locally and exit its China peritoneal dialysis business while maintaining its existing obligations.

The company said it expects portfolio optimization actions to result in one-time costs of approximately 110 million euros ($125.3 million) to be recognized in Q3.

As part of these actions, Fresenius Medical Care said it bolstered local leadership, with the appointment of market General Manager Rex Liu and improving focus on innovative technologies for in-center dialysis and critical care.
