CDC Data Centres, which is backed by Infratil (ASX:IFT, NZE:IFT), plans to build a new data center within an established industrial and waste‑management zone in Gregadoo, a suburb located in the Wagga Wagga region of New South Wales, according to a notice on its website.
CDC is performing a series of technical assessments and working with regional stakeholders to better understand the potential impacts and benefits of a new data center in the region.
The project could bring hundreds of new jobs to Wagga Wagga during the construction phase, as well as skilled employment opportunities once it is operational, CDC said.
Infratil has a 49.7% stake in CDC, according to the company's website.
