Wall Street futures pointed moderately higher pre-bell Friday as bond yields and oil prices eased, and tech-sector optimism held.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.5%, the Nasdaq inclined 0.7% and the Dow Jones was up 0.6%.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded down 3.8% at $89.38 in morning action, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 5.24%, the latter easing a bit from Thursday intraday highs.

The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH) traded up 1.5% pre-bell.

Investors also await the national employment situation or jobs report for September, slated for an 8:30 am ET release in Washington. The market consensus is for 85,000 net new jobs, as observers look for clues to the strength of labor markets during a period of higher interest rates and energy bills.

Asian exchanges traded mostly lower overnight, while European bourses tracked moderately north midday on the continent.

Nike (NKE) fell 10.2% pre-bell after the sportswear giant overnight reported weaker-than-expected fiscal Q1 sales, and issued soft guidance.

On the economic calendar, in addition to the employment report, is the factory orders bulletin for August at 10 am ET, followed by the weekly Baker Hughes oil-and-gas rig count at 1 pm.

Federal Reserve Dallas President Lorie Logan is slated to speak on Friday.

In pre-market action, Bitcoin traded at $86,403, and spot gold commanded $4,178 an ounce.
