Singapore Shares End in Red as Oil Spikes Past $102 Amid Escalating US-Iran Tensions

Singapore stocks incurred further losses on Friday, as escalating US-Iran geopolitical risks pushed oil prices over $102 a barrel.

The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 5,624.70 and 5,686.79 throughout the day. It ended the session at 5,634.82, down 32.85 points or 0.6% compared to Thursday's close.

On the corporate front, shares of Asiatic Group (SGX:5CR) plunged over 33% at the close, as it agreed to fully acquire Malaysian automotive dealership Karrus Mobility's Chery iCaur electric vehicle brand for SG$2 million.

CapitaLand Investment (SGX:9CI) closed nearly 2% lower even though the company and its listed and private funds achieved strong results in the 2026 GRESB Real Estate Assessment.

Meanwhile, A-Sonic Aerospace (SGX:BTJ) completed the proposed acquisition of a 60% stake in 3DC Solutions. Shares closed flat Friday.
