Boeing's (BA) new software glitch on some 737 MAX flight computers does not pose a flight-safety risk, multiple media outlets reported Friday, citing the Federal Aviation Administration.

The ruling by the FAA's expert panel paves the way for certification of the Boeing 737 MAX 10, according to CNBC.

Boeing flagged the software glitch, which could affect some landing procedures, in September, according to the media outlet.

"Following a thorough review, a panel of FAA safety experts on Friday determined a software issue in certain Boeing 737 MAX flight computers is not a safety concern," a FAA spokesperson said in an emailed response to MT Newswires.

The FAA's Corrective Action Review Board determined that the issue is not a safety concern because "pilots retain full control of the aircraft and the indications to the flight crew are clear and unambiguous," the FAA spokesperson added.
